Compressed Air Quality Testing & Monitoring

In today’s industrial environment, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance is vital. Compressed air systems, which are key to critical breathing applications and manufacturing processes, often have their purity overlooked. Contaminants like carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), oil, bacteria, and objectionable odours, as well as changes in moisture levels, humidity, and temperature, can compromise the air purity in airline breathing systems, posing serious health and safety risks.
Ensuring the proper level of air purity is essential. Our air purity testing services verify your compliance with Australian air quality standards. By routinely monitoring air purity, we help you maintain a safe breathing environment. Our testing can determine if you meet the following compliance standards:

AS/NZ 2299.1 – Air purity requirements for occupational underwater diving operations.
AS 2848.2        – Purity testing for compressed air in SCUBA or SCBA cylinders and air-filling compressors.

Why Choose Our Compressed Air Purity Testing Services?

Expert Technicians: Our skilled and professional team use industry-standard and best practice equipment to conduct every air purity assessment.

Comprehensive Testing: Samples are analysed for various contaminants, including water, solid particles, oil, and gases such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, as well as objectionable odours. Our testing also includes temperature and pressurised dew point measurements. Do you only conduct standard contamination tests?

While the standard testing includes water, solid particles and oil, we also test for gases including carbon monoxide(CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and many other specific air contaminants based on industry requirements. Our contamination team have developed a microbial test for bacteria in airline systems and can be made available at the time of booking should this be considered a concern.

What are the national / international air quality certifications that can be tested for?

AS/NZ 2299.1 – Compliance with diving air purity requirements for occupational underwater diving operations using compressed air.
AS 2848.2 – Testing of purity of compressed air in SCUBA or SCBA Cylinders and air-filling compressors.

How often should you test Compressed Air Purity?

HSE Australia recommends a quarterly or bi-annual assessment be conducted, to reduce risk and potential harm through contamination in the compressed air systems.

How long will the results take after the testing?

The results are provided on the spot while a detailed certificate of compliance will be issued within 2 working days for the standard set of tests.
